“Green Roof” is generally said that it is a roof which is covered by plants. Also, the modern “Green Roof” is a system of roofs which makes use of the materials of the construction, the medium, skills and cover the vegetation on roofs. It can be worked in the architecture of the city like other systems of roofs. The basic system of “Green Roof” is modular with vegetation layer, growing medium, drainage layer, root repellent layer, and water proof layer. According to the thickness of the medium, we distinguish “Green Roof” into the intensive type and the extensive type. The former is used for appreciating so it must be kept maintaining. The later one is used for the value of the environment so the lowest workload can be achieved. “The shallow style greening of roofs” is unlike traditional gardens of roofs which abounds in beauty but it has the specialties of low maintenance, low loads and the economical fees. It is in haste to build up native cases according to the situation of the industrial environment in Taiwan.
